How BrightLife Works...

Don't confuse BrightLife with your typical yoga or mindfulness program found in so many addiction treatment facilities.

Because rather than simply relying on the generalized somatic effects of yoga postures, BrightLife strategically employs customized practices to target and neutralize specific maladaptive patterns in the brain that fuel addictive cycles.

Clinicians will recognize elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral TherapyPositive Psychology, and Mindfulness, all dispensed in a curated three-phase, step-by-step process:

PHASE 1: SOMATIC REJUVENATION

During the Rejuvenation Phase, we work to restore the addiction-compromised nervous system to its relaxed, parasympathetic state. The goal is to reduce the reactivity associated with addiction disorders and prepare the client to engage in the cognitive and repatterning work to come.

PHASE 2: COGNITIVE INSIGHT

During the Insight Phase, clients develop an understanding of exactly how addiction controls their behavior and work to verify their new understanding in their own experience. It's here that they also learn about the two points of leverage that can be used to regain natural control over urges, cravings, and unwanted behaviors.

PHASE 3: NEURAL REPATTERNING
The Repatterning Phase is aimed at altering the brain’s reaction to triggers using purpose-designed neural repatterning exercises that target five specific mental patterns that fuel addicted behaviors.

The the combined goal of all phases is four-fold:

Interrupt the reactive patterns of thought and behavior that perpetuate the cycle of addiction.

Reduce the incidence and intensity of triggering urges, cravings, and emotions that drive unwanted behaviors.

Enhance confidence, self-control, and resilience in the face of triggers and challenges.

Bolster self-awareness and personal empowerment while habituating the regular practice of self-care.

All in all, the six-week process blends cognitive drills, introspective exercises, and customized evidence-based yoga and mindfulness techniques, and can be accomplished in about 45-minutes a day.

In the first week, I felt like I had more self-control without even trying.
